Church Manager & Worship Leader

Sonja joined the staff at St. Paul’s UMC in September 2007. She started as our Administrative Assistant and has transitioned to our Church Manager & Worship Leader. She married Justin Parsons in February 2006 and has 4 children, Trevor, Sidney, Maelyn and Samuel. She enjoys singing, playing with the praise band, and helping with the children’s music programs. Congregational Care Coordinator

& Custodian

Kelly joined our staff in August 2020 as our Custodian and more recently as our Congregational Care Coordinator.  Kelly retired in 2019 from Benton Community Schools where she taught Art and Physical Education.  Kelly lives in Marengo with her husband, Joe who she's been married to since 1984.  They have 2 grown sons, Joe-Cory and Logan. She has been part of our church family since 2012 and looks forward to taking on a larger role caring for our congregation and church building. To contact Kelly, email loftuskp23@gmail.com.


Director of Children's Discipleship

Kristin started as our preschool coordinator in February 2013. She’s been volunteering with her husband Houston, teaching our preschoolers and K-4th grade on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. They have5 children, 2 sons (Haven and Hudson) and 3 daughters (Lynnea, Marielle and Alora). She enjoys sewing and scrapbooking when she has time as well as camping with her family. Early Childhood Coordinator

Sue started as our Administrative Assistance, but has been our church organist and choir accompanist now since 1984. She retired from US Bank where she was employed for 28 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Russ and their  2 children and 4 grandchildren. She also enjoys playing the piano and organ, and reading.



Choir Director

Steve Manning is from Granger, Iowa and graduated from Simpson College. He majored in Music Education there and has gone on to teach at Crestwood Junior High and in 2020 retired from Williamsburg High School where he taught for more than 25 years. He’s married to Margaret and has a daughter, Ashley and son, Blaine. He enjoys gardening, working in the yard and fishing
