What's Happening

In Church history, we find that this is referred to as agonizing prayer or wrestling prayer. It is a wonderful and compelling spiritual engagement. The Bible recounts the gathering of the New Testament Church for intensified prayer, “.. they raise their voices together in prayer to God… the place where they were meeting was shaken.”(Acts 4:24 and 31) The vigorous intercessions of Epaphras, Paul’s co-worker are noted in the scripture, “..always wrestling in prayer for you…”(Colossians 4:12). Hebrews 12:29 says, “ Our God is a consuming fire”. Even our Savior Jesus prayed intensely in Hebrews 5:7, ”  During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission”. CHARLES HADDON SPURGEON said these words, “ the best style of prayer is that which cannot be called anything else but a cry. No prayer will ever prevail with God more surely than a liquid petition… Then is God won when He hears the voice of your weeping… He who prays without fervency does not pray at all. We cannot commune with God, who is a consuming fire(Hebrews 12:29) if there is no fire in our prayer”. We  gather every Monday for time of intentional and explosive prayer. All are invited to experience the power prayer.
